Many thanks for sharing this very sound and sage advice! These methods and approaches were exactly how we approached communication with our now college-age daughter, and they proved very successful. We trust they will continue to do so with our Redwood sophomore son. Although practicing these methods demands a steady, listening ear (and humility), our family is living proof that these wise and time-worn principles of parent-teen communication DO work!
